Our annual Golf Classic was held Sunday, October 21 at Avalon Golf & Country Club. Golfers enjoyed a beautiful day on the course while raising funds for Irish Baseball. A very special thanks goes out to Karyn Casey for her hard work in organizing the successful event.
This year’s Golf Classic included a putting contest between baseball players, a chipping contest for the baseball players and all those not golfing, amazing raffle items such as: a putter, portable rocker chairs, 2 season passes for 2019 home games, 2 reserved seats under the deck for the 2019 season, and KCHS summer baseball camp voucher.
All funds collected collected will go directly to improving the Catholic baseball program. Past contributions and participation have helped to fund improvements to both our program and facilities. In recent years, the monies have built a viewing deck and pitching lab, improved field drainage, and a new staircase up to the track. Last year they were able to purchase a new batting cage net, a new net in front of the scoreboard, new varsity uniforms, a dugout logo wrap, 20 dozen practice baseballs and a V-Flex hitting aid. This year Coach Moore would like to expand the current locker room and concession stand, turf home plate and pitcher mound plus practice tops. Any additional monies would go towards the purchase of 3 new picnic tables, additional clay to raise the level of the infield and add student section.
Thank you to all who participated and supported Irish Baseball!
